TUTU TRAIN TOY / 2016
A train toy that opens up into a surprising setting for play. Plushies ride inside the train and are to be designed to fit the theme of the interior setting of the train. Tutu toy comes in four differently themed trains: jungle, space, under the sea, and farm animals. The themes were chosen considering ones that can trigger imagination and fun as well as being in the interest of both girls and boys. A child can collect multiple sets or play together different sets with their friends.
The prototype below represents the theme “Under the Sea”. Made of cotton fabric with felt padding inside, velcro straps, and wood base.
Fabric printing pattern was created and printed on cotton fabric. The outside of the train has windows with a peek through the setting. Inside, the toy reveals a colorful setting.
Plush toys shown in the photograph were bought to represent role play. Plush toys will be designed in the future.
